Destinations
Italy

Set in the heart of Southern Europe, Italy has charmed millions over the course of its rich and fascinating history. Its beautiful towns, dreamy lights and breathtaking landscapes seem to have been made for romance and its three millennia of history, culture and cuisine perfectly befit the “dolce vita” in Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples and Sienna. Italy is a timeless gem, whose cultural wonders are an absolute must for all art and history buffs. History and its particular feel make and structure this country, and visitors are struck by the feeling of being the main character of a story when meandering through the ruins of Pompeii, the corridors of the Vatican and other symbols such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Not only does it display one of the world’s richest and most impressive cultural and artistic legacy, but Italy also features natural wonders such as snow-capped summits in the Alps, the park of the Abruzzi, the smoking Vesuvius crater and 7,500 km /  4,660 mi of coastline. Along the coasts and shores,  where Mediterranean and Adriatic seas blissfully blend and mingle, you will experience how important a part of everyday life the Dolce Vita plays. Hedonists will find their sanctuary in Italy, while discovering the delights of sunbathing on sunny terraces, the pleasures of Italian cuisine and the refinements of delicious wines.
Italy will not give you a minute’s rest during your spa holidays, it being a living museum proudly boasting a plethora of cultural and historical activities. You step into a time-machine when exploring Italy, just as you may have done upon visiting Greek ruins, Arab monuments, Gothic churches and Renaissance palaces, as well as the remnants of the once powerful Roman Empire.
Bordering France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria, Italy boasts treasures unmatched in the rest of Europe. This is why a trip there is a necessary stop for visitors willing to grasp and appreciate Latin culture. And if you could just add to that a spa programme, your holidays might be close to perfection.
Italy’s weather varies from North to South, between the low lands and the mountain regions. If winters are long and cold in the Alps and summers quite fresh, you find a pleasant Mediterranean climate in the more southern regions and in the coastal areas. The sirocco, a hot and wet wind blowing from Africa may make scorching sounds during certain months in the year. As in other temperate countries in Europe, there is no real ideal moment to come to Italy for spa holidays. Some like the idea of taking refuge in a spa in winter to make the most of the warm waters and others prefer to go during the summer months to combine idleness and sunbathing to their spa treatments.
In the spa centres we offer, temperatures are mild all year round since they are located in Sardinia. Somewhat close to Corsica in appearance in some areas, but with wilder landscapes, this island enjoys rare and preserved beauty, a timeless charm. It is an ideal place for a successful spa vacation as you quickly feel taken away by the peacefulness and sweetness of the place. The Forte Village in Cagliari is a spa hotel belonging to Le Meridien group, which has been rewarded several times for the quality of its infrastructures, treatments and accommodation. The Thermae del Parco are a haven of peace set right out in the countryside, and are reminiscent of a tropical preserve.
As for the spa of the Sofitel Timi Ama in Villasimius, it is an Accor Thalassa group spa, between pine tree forests, sea and salt lakes. It offers slimming, tonic legs, anti-stress, beauty and top form programmes. The setting of this thalasso and spa centre is truly enchanting as the rest of Sardinia naturally is.
We chose to recommend the two previous spas, because we can guarantee the quality of the services and facilities on the premises, as well as the skilfulness of their staff. They undoubtedly feature among the best spa centres in Italy.
